Our herd consists of all purebred Nubians. We have chosen to raise our goats as naturally as possible rather than totally organic. The goats are immunized regularly for several different diseases and illnesses that can claim their lives quite quickly. We also do a maintenance program for parasite control. All immunizations and parasite control applications are administered as labeled and have been extensively tested to not pass through to the milk. At anytime that a doe would need additional medication she is pulled from the production line until such time as prescribed by the veterinarian.
Our goats are fed a textured, organic feed. While on the milk stand the goats receive a grain mixture. Our animals are working year round. This ration supplements the hay and minerals the goats have free access to in order to provide them the protein they need.
Goats, unlike cows, do not eat much grass, they prefer a more woody type of browsing.
